What do they do?
Oversized subbuteo figures painted exactly how you want them. That's right, any kit you can think of, just tell those gents over at Subbuteo Customs and for a small fee of around £25-£30 they will create a masterpeice for you.
We asked them for a Gillingham home kit from 1984 and this is what we got! Superb. Recommended for any subbuteo collector or just general football fan. As you can see from the photo, the figures are about 3 times the size of an original lightweight figure. They're made from what looks and feels like resin and the quality and finish is superb. After a primer coat is added they're ready for the talented artist to add the kit of choice.
After we received the Gills subbuteo player a few of us sat down and started to make lists of classic kits we'd all like to have a subbuteo figure painted like. It's harder than you think to narrow a list down! Fiorentina's Nintendo shirt from the late 90's, Mexico's 94 World Cup Shirt, Man Utd's treble winning 1999 Champions League final Shirt or even something a little closer to home, because one of us chose our own Sunday league team's kit.
